Cheese is celebrated in awards all year long across the UK and around the world. The awards – which many of our stallholders and makers have won – recognise the artistry and craft behind each cheese.

British Cheese Awards

Founded in 1994, these awards are among the most prestigious in the UK, celebrating a wide range of cheeses across multiple categories. Held as part of major food events like the Bath & West Show, these awards attract entries from across the UK and beyond.

Virtual Cheese Awards

The VCA Awards celebrate the best of British cheese, drawing hundreds of entries from across the British Isles. Profits support the British cheese industry through a bursary with the Specialist Cheesemaker Association, funding key educational events like the Science of Artisan Cheese Conference to help cheesemakers grow their craft.

Artisan Cheese Awards

The Artisan Cheese Awards celebrate and support small to micro-scale cheesemakers in the UK and Ireland, open to producers with an annual output of up to 400 tons. Cheesemakers can enter in one of 20 categories, including Fresh, Soft, Semi-Soft, Hard, Blue, and other specialty classes like Organic, Raw Milk, Farmhouse, and Affinage.

Affineur of the Year Awards

We’re proud to sponsor the Affineur of the Year competition, founded by the Academy of Cheese and Quicke’s in 2022 to celebrate the art of cheese aging. The event includes categories for Hard, Crumbly, Soft, and Washed Rind cheeses. Guests also vote for the People’s Choice Award.
