Cheesemakers Grant

At Chiswick Cheese Market, we’re passionate about supporting the next generation of cheesemakers. That’s why we’ve created the Chiswick Cheese Market Cheesemakers Grant — a special initiative designed to help new talent break into the world of cheese-making and take their craft to the next level.

The Chiswick Cheese Market Cheesemakers Grant is our way of giving emerging cheesemakers the tools, knowledge, and experience they need to succeed. In partnership with the Academy of Cheese, we offer this annual grant to deserving cheesemakers each year. Through the grant, recipients will gain Academy of Cheese certifications, hands-on cheesemaking experience, and invaluable support to enhance their skills and grow their careers in the cheese industry.

For a full 12 months, each grant winner will benefit from bespoke training and guidance, helping them to sharpen their craft and improve their business acumen. Additionally, we’ll offer them the chance to showcase their creations at Chiswick Cheese Market and connect with Academy of Cheese members around the world – providing opportunities for exposure, promotion, and growth in the wider cheese community.

There were so many deserving candidates that we added an extra grant in 2024. The five winners, who beat off the competition from a host of entries and impressed the organisers during their interviews are Emily Tydeman from Suffolk, Finn Dunlop from Kent, Jo Shelton from Norfolk, Matt Gue from Sussex and Matthew Lloyd from Shropshire.

Our very first grants were awarded to Aine Rubikaite from East Sussex, Dean Storey from Herefordshire, Millie Preese from Shropshire and Tracey Longhurst of Surrey.
