What’s On: March is for melting Cheese
March is for melting Cheese
Were the last few days just a hint of spring to come and winter is still with us perhaps? With the ski season in full swing we still have thoughts of snow and fondues so we have dedicated this March market to melting cheese.
Free tasting on HQ of @thefrenchcomte secret fondue blend. We’ll have pots of hot cheese to try from 9.30am. Roberto and Joel will bring along bags of their ready mixed cheeses for fondue to sell so you can replicate the full flavours at home.
@theroebuckchiswick will be serving their raclette as usual using traditional farmhouse French raclette cheese. If you want to make it at home @thefrenchcomte will be bringing plenty of varieties of raclette – truffle, peppercorn, mature and raw milk so you can mix and match at home with your own machines.
What about melting some British cheeses I hear you say? As a real treat Fay @bigwheelcheese is bringing her tartiflette griddle and you will be able to try this Mountain French delight made with Raedbald – a new British Reblochon style cheese made in East Anglia by @fenfarmdairy (of Baron Bigod fame). Wow! I can’t wait for that!
A French/British battle of the melts? Try them and see what you think.

Grate & Grill and Amuse Bouche will be serving their galettes and toasties with plenty of melted cheese respectively. Bring on that melty, gooey, oozey gorgeous hot cheese!
Special Guest: Michele of Napoli on the Road
At noon we have a very special treat because Michele founder of Napoli on the Road is joining Steve on his book stall next door to HQ. Michele was voted the best pizza chef on the planet in 2023 and Napoli on The Road won best pizza restaurant in Europe in 2024.
He will bring along copies of his wonderful new recipe book to sign and he says there may well be some pizza to try – ‘The Cheesewick’ pizza at his restaurant is named after our market!
Note to self – come hungry to taste ALL the melted cheeses.
